Custodes Caladius Grav Tank Hobby Update.

As I get closer to finishing over 2000 points of Custodes, I really wanted to sink my teeth into the Caladius Grav Tank. I had just come off a really lucky win with my Custodes vs. Necrons, and I wanted to field this tank for the first time vs. the dreaded Tau.

Fresh from Forgeworld. The half painted Custodes glare longingly at the unpainted Caladius.

I took pictures of the step by step process, and I may write up a tutorial on the blog if it garners any interest. For now I had to put the finishing touches on the tank to get my Ultramarines ready for sale. Yes, I’ve been made an offer I could not refuse. Anyway…. the Caladius:

Gorgeous, simple design. Well done by Forgeworld.

While I loved painting it, I have to admit it didn’t do very much for me. I don’t think it had a good role vs a drone heaavy Tau army, but then again, what does?

Thank you for checking this out. I kind of wish I had another one, but they are so expensive to field, and I think they are pointed a bit high. Not as out of wack as the Telemon, but still. In an army of the elite… you need as many feet on the ground as possible.

I am -considering- an Orion Gunship. Super expensive. I have a friend from the UK who swears by it, however posters on the Bolter and Chainsword forum tell me it’s horrible… a 1 turn death is almost guaranteed in today’s meta. Any thoughts?

Anyway, I hope you like the look of it. I truly loved painting it. Getting close to finishing this army!

Prot.
